Welcome to the CARFU Referees Society

Welcome to the Chicago Area Rugby Referees Society website. This site is for use by referees and players alike to learn and appreciate the laws that govern our beautiful game as well as help coordinate the assigning of referees throughout the CARFU area.

The referees of CARFU are dedicated to striving for excellence in rugby refereeing, beginning with our A panel referees to our most recent recruits.

Our Society is organized for the purpose of contributing to the growth of rugby football at all levels of play for all ages, through competition at local, state, national and international levels and to improve the position and standards of the game of Rugby Union Football in the Chicagoland area, the Midwest region, and the United States.

ELVs

The global trial of the IRB Experimental Law Variations (ELVs) starts on August 1, 2008.
The CARFU Referees Society will be completing its training on August 20th, and will be administering the ELVs starting with Fall season play.
